Saving phone battery
Navigating with a constant GPS connection unfortunately needs a lot of energy.
To avoid finding your phone's battery drained, here are a few tips you can follow in order to reduce battery consumption during long bike rides:
1. Turn off your screen as often as you can and use voice instructions for the routing:
Relying on voice navigation to be routed on the right path helps safe battery especially if you keep your phone in your pocket or use Bikemap with headphones.
2. Make sure to not use other apps simultaneously in the background:
Quit all other apps before you start your ride.
3. Activate flight mode if possible and use offline maps/routes:
If you are a Premium member, be sure to use offline maps to preserve your battery.
4. Use a power bank to charge your phone on the go (or during a break):
Start your ride with a fully charged phone and bring a power bank in case your tour takes longer than anticipated.
