Using the Bike Computer
The Bike Computer allows you to always keep an overview about your ride’s stats and select a unique combination of statistics that fit your needs.
Learn more about its features and how to use the Bike Computer in this article.
Features of the Bike Computer
You can find the Bike Computer in the map tab. The Bike Computer comes in three different sizes, which you can change according to your needs. The bigger the Bike Computer, the more stats it contains. The three sizes and the stats available for them are:
-
Small (speed)
-
Medium (speed, duration of the ride and distance)
-
Large (speed, distance, duration of the ride, elevation profile, ascent and descent)
Switch between different sizes by tapping on the Bike Computer.
When you start riding, the tab bar and search sheet disappear to give full focus to the map and the Bike Computer, and will reappear once you stop moving.
Customising the Bike Computer
If you are a Bikemap Premium member, you can choose between pre-made layouts for the Bike Computer or you can customise the layout of the bike computer yourself.
There are four pre-made layouts:
-
Base
-
Climb
-
Race
-
Commute
To choose a pre-made layout, tap on the button in the bottom left corner of the Bike Computer and swipe through the available layouts. Then, tap on “Use this layout” to select your preferred layout. You can activate or deactivate Apple Watch stats via the selection bar at the bottom of the screen.
If you want to customise the layout of the Bike Computer yourself, there are up to 20 different stats to choose from: distance, speed and pace (current, average or maximum), elevation (current, minimum or maximum altitude, ascent, descent, elevation grade, elevation profile) and compass and clock.
To customise which stats are shown in your Bike Computer:
-
Tap on the button in the bottom left corner of the Bike Computer.
-
Long-tap on the stat that you want to replace.
-
Select the stat that you want from the menu.
If you don’t like your current set-up, tap "Reset layout" () or "Reset" () to go back to the base layout.
If you are an iOS user you can also access health stats from your Apple Watch (heart rate, calories and activity rings).
Tip: If you can't see any of these values displayed on your bike computer you might have to open the Bikemap app on your Watch.
