Pausing a recording
Pause mode allows you to pause a recording any time you need to without having to start a new recording from scratch. This means that if you want to take a break during a ride with Bikemap, your stats will not be affected and you can resume the recording normally once you are ready to continue.
Pausing your recording
- Start recording a ride.
- As your recording is taking place, open the Bike Computer and click where it says "Pause". This will pause the recording, causing the Bike Computer and therefore the ride stats to freeze.
- A blue banner should appear at the top of your screen indicating that the route was paused successfully.
Note that you may take as long as you need before resuming a recording. The app does not have to remain open.
Resuming your recording
In order to resume your recording, you must be within a 200m radius of the last location where the pause was made. Once you click "Resume", the recording will continue as normal, building on your pre-pause stats.
If you find yourself outside the 200m radius and try to continue your recording by clicking "Resume", you will be given the option to either start a new independent recording or stop recording altogether by clicking "End". Clicking "End" will stop the original recording and automatically forward you to the saved route in your profile, whilst clicking "Start a new recording" will start a fresh recording and automatically save the route you have cycled so far to your profile with a generic title, and with the visibility set to private.
Pause Mode for Apple Watch
Pausing and resuming recordings is also possible with the Apple Watch. The operation is the same as in the Apps and the 200m radius also applies when resuming a recording.
