Planning routes
You can plan a bike route on our website and on our app. No matter in which way you create your routes, you can access them via your profile on all platforms.
Planning routes on your computer
On our website you can create bike routes with our route planner. You reach it by clicking "Route planner" at the top of our website. There you can use multiple tools to draw, edit and save your route.
You can find a detailed manual for the route editor here.
Planning routes using the app
You can plan routes in various different ways in the app. They will be explained in detail below.
Quick planning using the map
You can plan a route quickly and easily on the main map screen in four different ways:
- Search for a destination using the search bar. This will plan a route from your current location to the location you chose.
- Short tap on a location. This will bring up a screen that asks if you want to set the location as a destination or start there.
- Long press on a location. This will plan a route from your current location to the location you chose.
- Tap on a map POI. The screen that pops up here will be different depending on the POI you tapped on, but you will either be able to plan a route to the POI from your current location or directly start a navigation to it.
Alternatively you can press the 'plan' button on the main map screen which then gives you three options to choose from.
Opening an empty route planner
You can pick the top option 'Plan a Route' to open an empty route planner where you can enter the desired start and destination. A route will then be created. From here you can:
- Add stops to the route
- Change the routing option (see more on this below)
- Reverse the route
- Start the route
- Save the route (You will then find your saved route in the folder "My Routes" -> "Planned".)
- Share the route
Planning a tour
The second option on the list is 'Plan a Tour'. This will open up the web view within the app and allow you to plan a multi-day tour. You can read more about this here.
Planning a loop
The final option on the list is 'Plan a Loop'. This will take you to the loop planner where we help you to plan your perfect loop route. You can read more about this here.
