Navigation
In this article we want to familiarise you with the navigation feature. We have two navigation options to choose from; Turn-by-Turn and Self-Guided.
Please note that this feature requires a Bikemap Premium membership.
Turn-by-Turn Navigation on the iOS app

More options menu: Pressing these 3 dots will bring up these options:
- Download map: Tap this button to download the map area you are currently in if you want to track offline. Find out more about downloading maps here.
- Add a report: You see obstacles on the road? Want to share the location of public e-bike charging stations or pumps? With this button you can add community reports to the map and thus share points of interest with the entire Bikemap community. You can learn more about community reports here.
- Map settings: Here you can choose between different map styles, change the route style or decide whether you want your downloaded offline map areas to be visible or not.

Navigation state: There are three different navigation views that you can decide on. Tapping the arrow changes between them.
- Fix orientation and location:This is the default state. The map will be fixed to your location and the way you're facing.
- Fix location:You can reach this state by tapping on the arrow once. The map will then be fixed to your location but not your orientation.
- Free roam:You can reach this state by dragging the map. Neither your location or orientation will be fixed.
- Cue sheet: See all upcoming direction instructions in a list.
- Next instruction: At the top of the screen you will see the next instruction that will take you towards your destination. Below that, in the smaller box, you can see the one after the next instruction.
- Bike computer: The bike computer provides you with additional data about your ride (e.g. current speed, altitude etc.). It has 3 different possible sizes and can be customized to show any stat you want. A more detailed explanation can be found here.
- Ride information & more: The bottom window shows you how far it is until you reach your destination, and what your ETA is in minutes remaining and time. If you swipe the sheet up, you will see many more options.
- Pause: Press this button to manually pause the navigation (auto pause/resume is also an option).
- Add a stop: Press this button to add a stop to your current navigation.
- Route overview: Press this button to view the whole route from a zoomed out perspective.
- Share location: This gives you the option to share your current location or start a SharePlay group ride.
- Battery save mode: Turn battery save mode on or off. Read more here.
- Toggle bike computer: Toggle on or off to hide or show the bike computer whilst navigating.
- Toggle voice navigation: Turn voice instructions on or off.
- Toggle automatic rerouting: Turn automatic rerouting on or off.
- Toggle auto pause: Turn auto pause/resume on or off.

- Search for location: If you want to change where you're navigating to without ending the ride, tap this button and enter a location.

- Change BC layout: This allows you to change the layout of the bike computer

- End: Press this button to end the navigation (you will have the option to continue the recording if you so wish).
