Using a route as a template

On our website, you can use existing routes as templates for planning, allowing you to adapt routes to your preferences. 

How to do this depends on if the route is yours or someone else's.

If it is another user's route: 

1. First, open the route on www.bikemap.net
2. Next, click on the "Copy" button in the bottom right corner of the info box
3. The route will now be saved as your own and be viewable in your profile
4. You can then edit the route however you want. If you want to see the original route again, you can scroll down to the bottom of the info box where you will see which route it is based on

If it is your own route: 

1. Open the route
2. Edit the route as normal
3. You have the choice between 'Save changes' and 'Save copy'
4. If you choose 'Save copy', the new route will be saved in addition to the original
