Tours
This article will provide you with all the information you need about creating, navigating and maintaining your tours.
A tour is a type of route collection. A collection automatically becomes a tour if these conditions are met:
- The end of each route is within 2km (1.2 miles) of the start of the next one.
- There are a minimum of 2 and maximum of 20 routes in the collection.
If you edit a route or add a new route into the tour collection and one of these conditions is broken, then the tour will revert to a simple route collection again.
Map View
The big difference with a tour compared to a simple collection is that you will have an optional map view. In this view, the tour will be shown in one map, with each route shown in a different colour. From here you can:
- Have an overview of the whole tour.
- Tap on each route individually to check the basic stats of the route in the overview.
- Tap on more details to go into the comprehensive route details screen.
- You can check out the elevation profile graph for the whole tour.
The way you get to this view varies on Web and the Apps.
On the Apps
- Go to the profile tab.
- Tap on collections.
- Tap on any collection that is tagged with the label 'tour'.
- Tap on the 'Map' button that should be visible.
The map view will look something like this:
On the Website
- Go to 'my routes'.
- Click on the route collections tab.
- Click on a collection that is tagged with the label 'tour'.
- The map view will now be visible.
The map view will look something like this:
Filtering routes in the Map View
You can filter which routes are shown in the map view based on various conditions such as route length, elevation, title etc.
To do this, in the apps you should click on the filter button in the bottom right of the map view screen, whilst on the website you will find this filtering option in the info box on the left hand side of the screen.
Other functions
You can also manage the privacy, add a cover photo, a title, a description, share or delete the collection in the same way as with a normal route collection.
You can read the article on route collections if you want more general information on how to create and manage collections.
